NOVELTY – The Hunter-Schreger bands of the dental enamel have prismatic layers in alternating directions. The layers form the successive bands, which appear as light and dark bands when viewed under directed illumination. USE – Used for biometric parameter identification of human and animals. ADVANTAGE – The Hunter-Schreger bands of the dental enamel are resistant to extreme environmental conditions and includes most mineralized tissues of the body, which resists the post-death environmental degradation, and hence provides highly variable and unique tooth analysis and a valuable method for biometric identification by which images are easily observed and documented directly from the oral cavity.
