NOVELTY – The tellurite glass tubes, capillaries and rods manufacture has radio-frequency induction heating of a 70:19:7:4 stoichiometric ratio TeO2-WO3-Na2O-Nb2O5 composition at approximately 900 degrees C for e.g. 30 minutes. The liquid glass is homogenized, for drawing through a silica tube from a platinum crucible, the resulting solidified glass rod then being processed by centrifugation to form the tubes. USE – In materials science.
L01 (Glass – includes chemical compositions, batch treatment, furnaces, flat glass forming, hollow-ware forming, postforming and glass/ceramics, but not lens designs, bottling, bottle-washing, closures for containers, glazing designs, glass cutting, chamfering edges, printing on glass, disposing of used glass or the production of pure sodium silicate.
