Cylindrical electrochemical cell with doped coaxial diamond anode produced by deposition of diamond-bearing

NOVELTY – A cylindrical electrochemical cell comprises a hollow cylindrical cathode (11), and a cylindrical anode (9) which is arranged coaxially within the cathode. The anode includes a mechanically strong cylindrical substrate, which is produced by chemical vapor deposition by depositing diamond-bearing films onto previously blasted and mechanically resistant cylindrical substrates. A medium for sealing the cell and a connection for input solution in the cell (19) are also included. An output connection (13) and a promoter of turbulence helical device are additionally included. USE – Cylindrical electrochemical cell for use in aqueous solution purification processes (claimed). ADVANTAGE – The cylindrical electrochemical cell efficiently electrolyze undesirable substances contained in aqueous waste or drinking water for reducing concentration of toxic compound. DETAILED DESCRIPTION – A cylindrical electrochemical cell comprises a hollow cylindrical cathode, and a cylindrical anode which is arranged coaxially within the cathode. The anode includes a mechanically strong cylindrical substrate, which is produced by chemical vapor deposition by depositing diamond-bearing films onto previously blasted and mechanically resistant cylindrical substrates. A medium for sealing the cell and a connection for input solution in the cell are also included. An output connection and a promoter of turbulence helical device are additionally included. A resin or ion exchange membrane, and a medium for connecting multiple cells are optionally provided in the cylindrical electrochemical cell. INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for: (1) a method for purifying aqueous solution, which involves utilizing cylindrical electrochemical cell; and (2) a method for preparing diamond-doped diamond anode, which involves treating mechanically resistant cylindrical substrate with deposition process. DESCRIPTION OF DRAWING(S) – The drawing shows a schematic cross-sectional view of the cylindrical electrochemical cell.
