NOVELTY – Coating stent with hydrophobic polymer blend donor of nitric oxide for use in angioplasty, involves using polymeric blend of polyester polynitrate/polymethyl methacrylate. USE – The process is used for coating stents with hydrophobic polymer blend for use in angioplasty and biomedical applications. It is used for preventing thrombosis, and for reducing restenosis after angioplasty. ADVANTAGE – The process is capable of liberating nitric oxide. It prevents thrombosis and reduces restenosis after angioplasty. It stimulates the proliferation of the smooth muscular cells, stimulates the proliferation of endothelium cells and the origin of new vessels, and promotes the vasodilation of the blood vessels.
