Block search based motion estimation method for video encoders, involves performing hierarchical search combined with searches performed with fixed and adaptive patterns to assign motion vector for every block of video component

NOVELTY – The method involves performing hierarchical search combined with searches performed with fixed and adaptive patterns to assign a motion vector for every block of a video component. A level is generated in each stage by sub sampling a current frame and a reference frame, and discarding 3 pixels of each 2×2 square of the block. Movement direction of the motion vector of each block is determined by performing a series of operation on each level. The motion vectors found in higher levels are passed as information for each lower levels immediately. USE – Block search based motion estimation method for video encoders. ADVANTAGE – The method enables providing highly efficient block search, and avoiding block effect. The method enables providing less bandwidth and low power consumption. DESCRIPTION OF DRAWING(S) – The drawing shows a block diagram illustrating operations of a motion estimation method.'(Drawing includes non-English language text)’
