Optical system for measuring traction in real time at e.g. research fields, has sensor device provided with optical fiber and networks, and coupler measuring light reflection from networks

NOVELTY – The system has a sensor device provided with an optical fiber (2) and networks e.g. Bragg Grating network or Long Period Networks. A coupler measures light reflection from the networks. The optical fiber is provided on a longitudinal axis (3) of a spectral response unit. A light source is provided with a spectral filter and an optical spectrum analyzer. The optical spectrum analyzer measures spectral range of broad spectrum in a region of the optical fiber. USE – Optical system for measuring traction in real time. Uses include but are not limited to research fields, an oil industry, an electricity industry, an aviation industry, support beams, bridges and a construction industry. ADVANTAGE – The optical spectrum analyzer quickly measures LED spectral range of 1450-1650 nm of the light source and spectral response at time period of 0.6 mm and accurately calculates maximum sensitivity of the light source at 24.8 nm without increasing or decreasing sensing portion value of the fiber such that high optical attenuation of bark optical mode is avoided when measuring wavelength of signal is transmitted by the optical fiber. DETAILED DESCRIPTION – An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for a method of measuring traction. DESCRIPTION OF DRAWING(S) – The drawing shows a schematic view of an optical system. Optical fiber (2) Longitudinal axis of spectral response unit (3) Fixed point regions (5, 6)
