NOVELTY – The photometer has a switching device performing switching of atmosphere surrounding a sample (4), a detector preamplifier (11) and a computer (13). Operating frequency of chopper of radiation is about 1 kHz. A lock-in amplifier (12) allows selection of integration time from 3 ms to 10s. An interference filter (8) is provided with a band Reference. A central mirror is controlled by a stepper motor. A radiation detector (9) i.e. PBS, detects radiation ranging from 2650 to 3000 nm. A mirror is provided above a cell sample. USE – Photometer i.e. spectrophotometer for use in a near infrared region for determination of oxidative stability of oils, fats and biodiesel (all claimed). ADVANTAGE – The photometer determines the oxidative stability of oils, fats and biodiesel with large variability and oxidative stability in an automatic manner. The photometer is simple to use. DESCRIPTION OF DRAWING(S) – The drawing shows a schematic view of a photometer.
