Method for detecting the metabolic activity of protozoa

Method for detecting the metabolic activity of protozoa

NOVELTY – Detecting metabolic activity of protozoa, involves preparing the sample, adding a labeling reagent to the sample, mixing the materials and then incubating the obtained material. The obtained material is kept in a chamber for conducting photon-counting in order to obtain data. The obtained data is compared with photon-counting curves with delayed luminescence from the positive control (live microorganisms). Bolztman adjustment and integral curve of the graphs of the sample and the positive control are conducted to obtain coefficients. USE – Method for detecting metabolic activity of protozoa. ADVANTAGE – The method enables to detect metabolic activity of protozoa quickly and economically by dispensing the requirement of incubation of animal models. DETAILED DESCRIPTION – Detecting metabolic activity of protozoa, involves preparing the sample, adding a labeling reagent to the sample, mixing the materials and then incubating the obtained material. The obtained material is kept in a chamber for conducting photon-counting in order to obtain data. The obtained data is compared with photon-counting curves with delayed luminescence from the positive control (live microorganisms). Bolztman adjustment and integral curve of the graphs of the sample and the positive control are conducted to obtain coefficients that are compared with graph of the sample and the positive control, if the coefficient of the sample is larger, then it contains living protozoa.
