Tendon healing composition and formulation, and uses thereof

NOVELTY – Composition comprises extract of mucilage obtained from leaves of Aloe vera, and pharmaceutically acceptable additives. USE – Composition used in preparation of formulation for treating or healing tendon lesions (all claimed). ADVANTAGE – The composition promotes fast tendon healing by improving reorganisation of collagen fibers after injury, increasing total concentration of collagen, sulfated glycosaminoglycans and non-collagen proteins, and also increasing matrix metalloproteinases (MMP)-2 activity and decreasing MMP-9 activity, and thus provides anti-inflammatory effect.
