NOVELTY – The method involves processing voltage signals to extract basic components and harmonic components from the voltage signals, and to extract transitory signals from the voltage signals. The harmonic components are subtracted from the basic components of the voltage signals. Parameters based on statistics are extracted from the basic components and transitory signals. The waveforms of the harmonic components, basic components and transitory signals are determined using neural network and computer processing to determine the classification of the voltage signals. USE – For classifying multiple and isolated voltage signals in distribution networks for electric energy transmission.
