NOVELTY – The drilling fluid composition comprises a synthetic oil base and an aqueous solution with an acidic pH emulsified in oil without any alkali component. USE – Drilling fluid composition used in rock drilling accelerator selected from carbonate, dolomite or sandstone for drilling oil and gas wells (claimed). ADVANTAGE – The drilling fluid composition increases penetration rate in rocks responsive to acids common in the Brazilian pre-salt scenario. DESCRIPTION OF DRAWING(S) – The drawing shows a schematic representative scheme of an acidic water or oil emulsion.

Main Application Field

H01 (Obtaining crude oil and natural gas – including exploration, drilling, well completion, production and treatment. General off-shore platform and drilling technology is included together with the treatment of tar sands and oil shales (C10G, E21B).)
