NOVELTY – The solid-phase extraction-type C18 cartridge manufacture has substitution of the organo chlorosilane reagent by PMODS (poly(methyloctadecyl siloxane)polymer), a source of C18 aliphatic chains. The chemical reaction is substituted by physical sorption of the PMODS on silica, followed by thermal immobilization of the PMODS and elimination. USE – In Chemical engineering.
