NOVELTY – Topical formulation comprises 0.1-15% dry extract of leaves of Maytenus ificifolia (MI) selected from MI40, MI60 or MI80 extract and comprises 85.0-130.0 mg/g catechin, 171.0-221.0 mg/g epicatechin and 29.0-56.0 mg/g rutin extract, 0-0.5% Carbopol (RTM: Rheology modifier), 0-8% Cosmowax (RTM: Versatile nonionic surface active agent), 4% mineral oil, 0.05% butylated hydroxytoluene, 0.10% ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, 0.18% methylparaben, 0.02% propylparaben, 10% glycerine, 6% propylene glycol, sodium hydroxide having pH of 6.0-6.5 and 100% water. USE – Topical formulation used for external treatment of skin and hair (claimed). ADVANTAGE – The topical formulation has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity.
