A method for esterification and purification of ethyl acetate and anhydrous ethanol
NOVELTY – Ethyl acetate and anhydrous ethanol production involves feeding a mixture of anhydrous ethanol and acetic acid in a reactor and another mixture containing hydrous ethanol and acetic acid in another reactor. The ethyl acetate is separated with water and acetic acid, where the water is removed the obtained hydrous ethanol by adding ethylene glycol to obtain anhydrous ethanol. USE – Method for producing ethyl acetate and anhydrous ethanol (claimed). ADVANTAGE – The method produces with high-purity ethyl acetate and anhydrous ethanol in presence of niobium pentoxide catalyst and allows reuse of the solvents in subsequent steps.
Main Application Field
