NOVELTY – Preparing self-supported nanocomposite involves preparing functionalized carbon nanostructures (NEC-FUNC), which comprises functionalized carbon nanotubes (NTCs-TRIS). The NTC-TRIS obtained is added to the water and 6 molar phosphoric acid solution to obtain a NTCs-TRIS dispersion in water, which is ultrasonically treated for 15-60 minutes, placed in glycerol or silicone bath at a temperature of 60-95 degrees C, then added with concentrated phosphoric acid solution under mechanical stirring, then dropwise added with 0.05 molar cerium nitrate solution for 30 minutes and stirred for 4-24 hours. USE – Method for preparing self-supported nanocomposite used as adsorbent material for preparing heavy metal ion removal device (all claimed). DETAILED DESCRIPTION – Preparing self-supported nanocomposite involves preparing functionalized carbon nanostructures (NEC-FUNC), which comprises functionalized carbon nanotubes (NTCs-TRIS). The NTC-TRIS obtained is added to the water and 6 molar phosphoric acid solution to obtain a NTCs-TRIS dispersion in water, which is ultrasonically treated for 15-60 minutes, placed in glycerol or silicone bath at a temperature of 60-95 degrees C, then added with concentrated phosphoric acid solution under mechanical stirring, then dropwise added with 0.05 molar cerium nitrate solution for 30 minutes and stirred for 4-24 hours to obtain the product, which is centrifuged until the complete elimination of the water present to obtain the precipitate, which is washed with distilled water at a pH range of 4-6. The product obtained is re-dispersed in water under magnetic stirring to obtain residue-free precipitate, which is filtered under vacuum by a hydrophilic membrane to obtain the precipitate, which is dried under vacuum to obtain the final product.
