Process of active substance extraction from Brazilian Ginseng
NOVELTY – Brazilian ginseng active ingredients extraction involves treating Brazilian ginseng roots through drying and grinding processes, where the treated material is fed into an extractor device for extraction as a solid matrix. A solvent, preferably carbon dioxide is provided in the extractor device in at supercritical condition, where soluble compounds are extracted from the solid matrix. The extracted material is depressurized for separating carbon dioxide and solvent to extract active ingredients. USE – Method of extracting active ingredients including beta -ecdysterone used in chemical industries, food, pharmaceutical, cosmetic and steroids to prepare drug for treating dry skin, ichthyosis and psoriasis (all claimed). ADVANTAGE – The method provides ingredients including beta -ecdysterone continuously, which regulates, promotes and normalizes keratinocyte differentiation. DESCRIPTION OF DRAWING(S) – The drawing shows a schematic representation depicting active ingredients extraction method.
