NOVELTY – The synthesis of quinamides through microwave-assisted action consists of aminolysis of lactoses, to form hydroxy amides, as intermediates for synthesis of, e.g. pharmaceuticals. No catalysts or large excess of reagents are required on using pure primary amines, with a yield of 75-99 per cent in 2-15 minutes. USE – In industrial chemistry.
